Welcome

Hola and welcome to the desert. We are delighted to host you at 72689 Beavertail Street — known to us as Casa Serena, a Krisel/Alexander midcentury home originally built in the late 1950s and rebuilt in the late 1990s into its current Adobe Pueblo style. The builder/owner hand-crafted the dining room table, chairs, and buffet, and the home blends those original mid-century family pieces — including the antique ice box by the front door, refinished by hand — with newer furnishings. Beyond this welcome book, there's a brightly colored notebook on the bottom shelf of the kitchen hallway with extra details like how to heat the pool and spa. You are here for vacation, so please relax and have a great time — reach out anytime if you want help operating something or would like recommendations for great places to eat and awesome things to do.

Good to Know

  • There are two Ring cameras on the property — one in the carport and one on the doorbell, which faces the front gate and pool area.
  • Front door code: 1025 — punch in the code, then press the lock symbol to unlock. To lock from the outside, press and hold the lock button until you hear the sound.
  • Gate codes: C356 opens both side gates; the pool pump enclosure code is 1117.
  • The indoor fireplace has a gas starter — matches and the gas key are in the red box on the coffee table. Open the flue before starting a fire, place kindling/paper on the log holder, light it, then slowly turn on the gas with the key. Close the flue and make sure the gas is fully off once the fire is out.
  • Fire pit: remove the umbrella and the circular steel cover before use. The key, matches, and instructions are in the multi-colored house manual.
  • Two bicycles are in the garage with helmets — bring the bike lock if stopping at a local store, and there's a bike pump if the tires are low.
  • A pet bed and pet blanket are provided; please use the blanket if your pet gets on the furniture.
  • A few teak, unlacquered mid-century pieces need coasters: the kitchen table, the office desk behind the sofa, the buffet in the primary bedroom below the mirror, and the entertainment center in the third guest bedroom.
  • Coffee, tea, and kitchen food items are yours to use — sugar, sweetener, and coffee condiments are in the cabinet below the Keurig.
  • Two table lamps in the living room are on timers for security.
  • The office printer (paper is in the drawer below it) is available to use, and there are a few open storage cabinets in the garage.
  • A rechargeable SONOS speaker is docked in the kitchen — connect by Bluetooth or through Pandora/Spotify, and please return it to the dock to charge. A smaller BOSE speaker in the primary bedroom works the same way, and there's a record player and radio with records in the office.

Television

Master, Living Room, and Office TVs use Apple TV — one remote needed, and the speaker turns on with the TV; log into your own subscriptions like Netflix or HBO through the menu. Guest bedrooms and the kitchen have Smart TVs (not Apple TV) — you can access your subscriptions through the TV's own menu.
